Bellaeau Wood

I am feeling a tad depressed for these few days and I find myself distancing from everyone I know, even my close friends. I dunno if its my problem, but they wouldn't understand the situation I am in.

I am struggling with my own personal demons, and making cards and drawing is just two ways for me to vent my negative feelings. But I am still wasn't secure. Don't you will feel tired having so many things bottled up?

IBoy! My chest hurts.

And I think I am going crazy.

And it will great if you dont leave any comforting words or anything because I will NEVER reply back. I dont believe in comforting words or anything anymore. I just going to be unemotional. It is a way of dealing my pain better.

Garth Brooks - Belleau Wood

Oh, the snowflakes fell in silence
Over Belleau Wood that night
For a Christmas truce had been declared
By both sides of the fight
As we lay there in our trenches
The silence broke in two
By a German soldier singing
A song that we all knew

Though I did not know the language
The song was "Silent Night"

Then I heard my buddy whisper,
"All is calm and all is bright"
Then the fear and doubt surrounded me
'Cause I'd die if I was wrong
But I stood up in my trench
And I began to sing along

Then across the frozen battlefield
Another's voice joined in
Until one by one each man became
A singer of the hymn

Then I thought that I was dreaming
For right there in my sight
Stood the German soldier
'Neath the falling flakes of white
And he raised his hand and smiled at me
As if he seemed to say
Here's hoping we both live
To see us find a better way

Then the devil's clock struck midnight
And the skies lit up again
And the battlefield where heaven stood
Was blown to hell again

But for just one fleeting moment
The answer seemed so clear
Heaven's not beyond the clouds
It's just beyond the fear

No, heaven's not beyond the clouds
It's for us to find it here

*EDIT*Kristina's colour inspiration #35

Kristina has posted another of her weekly colour challenge, and I decided to take up once again, as I am itching to make another card.

Here's her colour challenge :

And here's my card for the challenge:

Material used: Chocolate cardstock, Tang's art gift wrapper, navy blue ribbon, rainbow sparkle embossing powder, KCK craft chipboard embellishment

I asked my sister how's it...and she just simply flipped the card horizontally, and then said: "There...this is what I feel is better!"

Result:

Wow! Not a bad idea. =)

BECME - Elysium Bubbles Card

I made another card which is quite similar to the card i posted in my previous entry.

I got quite a number of responses from my other blogs, and decided to make a video for those who wish to make it.

Here's the snap shot:

This card will be put on sale

So here's the video and it will be better to watch in high quality. Simply click on the video where it will direct you to youtube, and from there, click "watch in High quality" just below the video itself.

For the time being...enjoy!

Elysium Flower Birthday Card for my sister

Today is my dear sister's birthday and I made a card for her.

And to admit, I fell straight in love with the card after I'm done with it!

Oh my!!!

Here's the snapshot:

Flowerbirthday.jpg picture by bellaelysium_art

The flowers in the picture is actually all glitter, which I done by heat embossing using rainbow sparkle embossing powder, but it is not that visible/obvious in the photo.

And the "Happy Birthday" is done by heat embossing as well, using black sparkle embossing powder.

And glad to say, my sister was like "wow" when she saw it.

Now I am waiting for pizza to arrive. Its has been in my family that we celebrate our birthday by ordering pizza instead of birthday cake. Shades

Mu uncle's wedding

I just went for my uncle's wedding dinner yesterday. I think it is more of engagement dinner, but the thing confusing me, is...isn't signing ROM cert is considered being married? So why do they call it engagement?

I guess what I initially thought is that engagement is just merely to let people know that you are getting married, and I guess its other way round here?

The pictures are all in my uncle's camera and i was lazy to bring my own, but I doubt I'll be blogging the pictures here since I dun feel the need to, and I wasnt present in all pictures, only three pictures where I was being "forced" to be in, and I havent got the heart to spoil my uncle's mood =)

I made a wedding card for both uncle colin and aunt agnes, and glad to say they like it.

Its much to the inspiration of Kristina's cards and you should have a look at her blog !

Isn't it elegant?

Brown and gold card at that!

I don't have her kind of circular template for me to cut the circles out, so all I use is a circle protractor, which I think I am quite satisfied with the outcome, trying to cut straight circles, and since its my first time making a circular card, I'm really happy with it!

And the wedding cake image you see there?

Mummy bought the stickers for me as well as those gold strip below the gold string. It is actually from a gold wrapper mummy bought cos I asked her to help me purchase gold ribbon and she bought the wrapper instead, and ask me to think of ways to use it instead of buying ribbon.

Wow. I didn't expect mum to make me think creatively. This layout wasnt what I have in mind but I have to make do with the materials I have and I'm glad with the outcome.

Anyway, i have been making some christmas cards this morning and wont be posting it here until the recipients got them. Wont want to spoil the surprise since they got a habit of reading my blog . =D

Now, I am down with a bad cold and ate the medicine after lunch which practically knocked me unconscious until mum woke me up for dinner. And now I am feeling slightly better, except my eyelids are threatening to drop, which I couldn't afford them to do that as daddy is going to take my siblings and I out later..I think to chinatown?

Mum told me Bugis while sis told me is chinatown. -.-"

The wrong time to fall sick. =(

I'll be damn moody all through out later. Hopefully not.

I guess I'll stop here for now.

Term test over

Finally, my term tests is OVER. I wouldn't want to think of it. I think I am gonna fail my biostatistics and higher mathematics paper anyway. Just the thought of it make my stomach churn.

And on the other note, I am really miserable with my effort in drawing her dress folds. Clothes draps are hard isn't it? And I'm really disappointed. Does it look like dress folds to you? Maybe I'll need to add a little bit of shading here and there as I go along.

Oh well.

Here's the drawing I have been working on and off:

Exams over and yet i am still feeling miserable over this drawing.

It gonna be a long time before I finished this. And I am trying to add some imagination to it, following what I have in mind. Hopefully, i'll manage to pull it off.

And things isn't going well in my personal life, with some kind of things bugging me and I didn't have any mood to socialize. I'm not a social person anyway. So I'll apologize to my bestest friends for neglecting them, especially Soon. I promise I'll find the time to have lunch with you =)

What a MESS.

Christmas For Payatas - Lend a Hand

December is coming, and everywhere, people are busy preparing and celebrating the holiday season.

But in the midst of that, somewhere out there in Payatas, children are struggling to earn a living, trying to survive. The poverty they are in, it is simply heart wrenching.

I am talking about the situation in Payatas.

I'll emphasis more on this and why I am highlighting it.

So don't be so ignorant as to skip this post and think..." This is boring."

This is to appeal to you guys to help create better awareness to the plight of the children and and for those who can support, do give support and donate as we are raising donation for christmas.

*  *  *

Payatas, located located in the suburbs of Manila, Philippines, is called Smoking Valley. the biggest garbage dump in the Phillipines and one of the three biggest slums in the world.

Can you see tons of rubbish lying around?

I couldn't imagine myself living there, let alone children who are so much younger than me, climbing the moutains just to work and the earning of a child is not even enough to buy food. They collect materials from the dumps to sell, working daily in order to survive. In such a dump, children as young as four years old scavenge from early morning till late at night in order to help the ends meet.

And not to mention, the dangerous situation they were in. When there's bad weather condition, there's a very high possiblilty of landslides, which can crushed and buried over a hundred shacks belonging to scavenger families.

The Smoking Valley has grown to become a stark and heart-tugging reminder of the desperate conditions of humanity.

Watch the video, which highlight the situation:

Because of that, Totedaddy.com is working with Lighthouse Center For Children Foundation to bring a little cheer to the children this Christmas.

Totedaddy has kicked off with a cash sponsorship of USD 10,000 to enable the children to celebrate Christmas. FusionExcel International has also pitched in a USD 5,000 in cash sponsorship. The money raised will help fund the projects already in place, and help fund additional projects aimed at providing better housing, and a means of livelihood for the Payatas community.

There are also many prominent supporters for the good cause.

I do hope that this post makes you aware of the plight and do spread words around about Christmas For Payatas.

Help to bring smiles to children there and to bring christmas joy to them and their families.

Once again, if you can donate, do donate.

You can visit  Totedaddy.com to make your donation

commission update

It has been a while ever since I last drawn a portrait and I am planning on drawing one after this commission drawing. Already have something in mind, thanks to Mindy from redbubble for a reference picture. You should have seen her photography gallery.

Visit Mindy's redbubble to view her fantastic gallery.

Another update on the commission I have been working on:

At first it makes me a little nervous as I never tried drawing a boy, excluding the first time i tried my hand on drawing a boy and it doesnt turn out well. But so far, I am satisfied with it, and the person who requested also like it. I just show it to her yesterday. Smile

Right now, I am still rushing with my cardmaking. I just hope I can finished it before 4th december.

In case you guys are interested, there's a special discount rate for international postages on 4th december ONLY. So yea. That's explained why I said I must finished before 4th december since I have tons of cards to send out!

I'll stop here. I am pretty tired.

I dunno..I have been nodding off in lectures lately.

And dozing off on table unexpectedly whenever I am doing my revision in school.

Thank goodness it is weekend tomorrow.

Gonna sleep my ass off. Shades
